IGOR LEŠNIK

IGOR LEŠNIK i njegova umjetinička suradnja s poznatim kolegama, bogata kolekcija snimaka i solističko koncertno djelovanje predstavili su hrvatsku udaraljkašku scenu svijetu početkom 1990-ih. Njegovu glazbu danas izvode renomirani solisti i ansambli, a njegove skladbe čine obavezan dio programa na međunarodnim natjecanjima udaraljkaša.

Kao osnivač Odsjeka za udaraljke na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu, profesor Lešnik redovito gostuje na renomiranim sveučilištima pet kontinenata, a njegovi udaraljkaški članci objavljeni su u Europi i SAD-u. Od 1990. organizira međunarodne udaraljkaške događaje, a od 1984. do 2014. vodio je udaraljkašku sekciju Simfonijskog orkestra Hrvatske radiotelevizije. Također je bio predsjednik Hrvatskog ogranka Društva za udaraljkašku umjetnost / SAD i predsjednik žirija Universal Marimba Competition / Belgija.

Za svoja umjetnička dostignuća primio je brojne nagrade u zemlji i inozemstvu. Godine 2003. stekao je francuski viteški naslov (Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres) za postignuća u umjetnosti i književnosti.

Bivši pročelnik Odsjeka za dirigiranje, harfu i udaraljke, prof. Lešnik od 1. listopada 2019. obnaša dužnost dekana Muzičke akademije Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.



IGOR LEŠNIK
’s artistic collaborations with famous colleagues, his rich collection of recordings and his soloist concert activities introduced Croatian percussion scene to the world in early 1990s. His music is today performed by renowned soloists and ensembles and international percussion competitions program his works.

As founder of the percussion department at the Music Academy in Zagreb, professor Lešnik is regular guest at renowned universities of five continents and his percussion articles have been published in Europe and USA. Since 1990 Igor organizes international percussion events and had led the Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra percussion section from 1984 to 2014. He was also the president of the Croatian Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society / USA and Jury President of the Universal Marimba Competition / Belgium.

Igor has received numerous awards for his artistic achievements at home and abroad. In 2003, he was awarded French knighthood title (Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres) for accomplishments in arts and literature.

Former Head of the Department for Conducting, Harp and Percussion, Prof. Lešnik since 01. October 2019. serves as the Dean of the University of Zagreb Academy of Music.

MARKO MIHAJLOVIĆ

MARKO MIHAJLOVIĆ je diplomirao udaraljke 2004., na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu u klasi prof. Igora Lešnika. Već tijekom studija redovito svira kao član udaraljkaškog ansambla biNg baNg s kojima je u narednih desetak godina svirao na najvećim svjetskim festivalima za udaraljkašku glazbu (Taipei, Nashville, Paris, Varšava, Valencia, Montevideo, Peking i dr.). Na festivalu „PASIC“ (Nashville, 2004.) biNg baNg je osvojio nagradu za najbolji studentski ansambl udaraljki na svijetu, a ubrzo nakon toga snimili su i CD za američku tvrku Equilibrium Records. Za te projekte svi članovi ansambla su primili Rektorovu nagradu. Pred kraj studija Marko počinje svirati u Cantusu, ansamblu za modernu glazbu, u kojem kao stalni član djeluje i danas. S njima je nastupao diljem svijeta (Paris, London, Peking, Toronto, Villnius, Bern), a 2012. Cantusu je dodijeljena nagrada Judita,

za najuspješnije glazbeno ostvarenje. Uz Cantus, bio je i stalni član ansambla Acoustic Project te kvarteta udaraljki Boomerang, a tijekom svoje izvođačke karijere nekoliko puta je nastupio uz pratnju Zagrebačkih solista i Simfonijskog orkestra HRT-a. 

Godine 2007. Marko je položio audiciju za prvog timpanista orkestra opere Hrvatskog Narodnog Kazališta u Zagrebu, gdje uspješno radi i danas, a 2016. postao je i docent na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu gdje predaje udaraljkaški ansambl i studij orkestralnih dionica. Od 2015. godine aktivno nastupa sa suprugom violinisticom Evom Mach u duu ART MM.



MARKO MIHAJLOVIĆ 
graduated in percussion in 2004 at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music, in the class of prof. Igor Lešnik. Already during his studies, he regularly plays as a member of the biNg baNg percussion ensemble, with whom he played at the world’s largest percussion music festivals (Taipei, Nashville, Paris, Warsaw, Valencia, Montevideo, Beijing, etc.) over the next ten years. At the “PASIC” festival (Nashville, 2004), biNg baNg won the award for the best student percussion ensemble in the world, and soon after they recorded a CD for the American company Equilibrium Records. For these projects, all members of the ensemble received the Rector’s Award. Towards the end of his studies, Marko started playing in Cantus, an ensemble for modern music, in which he still works as a permanent member. He performed with them all over the world (Paris, London, Beijing, Toronto, Vilnius, Bern), and in 2012, Cantus was awarded the Judita award, for the most successful musical achievement. Along with Cantus, he was also a permanent member of the Acoustic Project ensemble and the Boomerang percussion quartet, and during his performing career he performed several times accompanied by the Zagreb Soloists and the HRT Symphony Orchestra. 

In 2007, he passed the audition for the first timpanist of the opera orchestra of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, where he continues to work successfully today. In 2016, he became an assistant professor at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music where he teaches chamber music and orchestral sections. Since 2015, he has been actively performing with his wife, violinist Eva Mach, in the duo ART MM.

biNg baNg

Udaraljkaški ansambl zagrebačke Muzičke akademije ima kratku, ali bogatu povijest. Pod umjetničkim vodstvom Igora Lešnika ansambl je osnovan 1999. godine kao ansambl Hrvatske glazbene mladeži. Nakon pet godina intenzivnog međunarodnog djelovanja postali su neovisni 2004. godine.

biNg baNg ansambl je laureat mnogih međunarodnih i hrvatskih glazbenih nagrada. Godine 2009. su osvojili Summa cum laude prvu nagradu Međunarodnog natjecanja u Belgiji, a 2004. godine ih je prestižni Arts Society International Convention u Nashvilleu USA proglasio najboljim studentskim ansamblom u svijetu za tu godinu. Među hrvatskim nagradama valja spomenuti nagradu “Ivo Vuljević” za najbolji mladi ansambl u Hrvatskoj te dvije Rektorove nagrade Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

Ansambl se sastoji od najboljih studenata udaraljki zagrebačke Muzičke akademije. Nastupao je diljem svijeta, od Europe i Azije do Amerike. biNg baNg je također ugostio mnoge poznate međunarodne soliste kao što su: Andy Narell, Dave Samuels, Art Lipner, Ney Rosauro, Jean Geoffroy, John Beck, Angel Frette, Daniella Ganeva, Ludwig Albert… Njihov nosač zvuka pod nazivom “biNg baNg plays Lešnik” objavljen za američku tvrtku Equilibrium postigao je međunarodni uspjeh.

Percussion ensemble of the University of Zagreb Academy of Music  has a short but rich history. Under the artistic direction of Igor Lešnik, the ensemble was founded in 1999 as the Croatian Musical Youth Ensemble. After five years of intensive international activity, they became independent in 2004.

biNg baNg ensemble is the laureate of many international and Croatian music awards. In 2009, they won the summa cum laude first prize at the International Competition in Belgium, and in 2004, the prestigious Arts Society International Convention in Nashville USA declared them the best student ensemble in the world. Among the Croatian awards, it is worth mentioning the “Ivo Vuljević” award for the best young ensemble in Croatia and two Rector’s awards of the University of Zagreb.

The ensemble consists of the best percussion students of the University of Zagreb Academy of Music. Performed all over the world, from Europe and Asia to America. biNgbang has also hosted many great international soloists such as: Andy Narell, Dave Samuels, Art Lipner, Ney Rosauro, Jean Geoffroy John Beck, Angel Frette, Daniella Ganeva, Ludwig Albert…

Their sound carrier called “biNg baNg plays Lešnik” released for the American company Equilibrium achieved international success.

BAD BLUES BOYZ

BAD BLUES BOYZ Ime ansambla kao i članovi variraju od koncerta do koncerta. Učenici su to osnovne i srednje Glazbene škole Vatroslava Lisinskog Bjelovar. Repertoar i ime ansambla produkt su kreativnih dječijih umova pod vodstvom nastavnika Ruperta Čunka. Osnovnu ideju koju nastavnik predloži učenici sami razviju, uključujući svoju kreativnost i inspirativnost te si međusobno pomažu u radu, stvaranju i uvježbavanju djela. Uz relativno kratku povijest nastupanja ali vatrenu volju, ovaj ansambl mladih glazbenika osvaja svaku publiku svojom veselom karizmom i sjajnim plesnim ritmovima.

BAD BLUES BOYZ The name of the ensemble as well as the members vary from concert to concert. They all are students od the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School Bjelovar. The repertoire and name of the ensemble are the product of creative children’s mind under the guidance of teacher Rupert Čunko. The basic idea proposed by the teacher is developed by the students themselves, including their creativity and inspiration and  they help each other in working, creating and rehearsing the piece. With a relatively short history of performing but a fiery will, this ensemble of young musicians conquers every audience with its cheerful charisma and great dance rhythms.

RUPERT ČUNKO

RUPERT ČUNKO (1995., Čakovec) Glazbeno obrazovanje započinje u Glazbenoj školi u Varaždinu svirajući violončelo i gitaru. Godine 2012. upisuje srednju glazbenu školu u Varaždinu, smjer udaraljke u klasi prof. Stanislava Muškinje te solo pjevanje u klasi prof. Darije Hreljanović. Diplomirao je udaraljke na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu, u klasi red. profesora Igora Lešnika. Tijekom svog obrazovanja polazi udaraljkaške seminare prof. Ivane Bilić i prof. Igora Lešnika te sluša masterclassove svjetskih udaraljkaša kao što su Ludwig Albert, Marta Klimasara, Stoyan Yankoulov i Pei-Ching Wu. 

Tijekom akademskog obrazovanja aktivno sudjeluje u radu udaraljkaškog ansambla biNg bang s kojim gostuje na udaraljkaškim festivalima i seminarima u Ulmu (Njemačka) te Debrezenu (Mađarska). Sudjeluje na međunarodnim natjecanjima od kojih izdvaja prvu nagradu kao solist te kao član ansambla na Međunarodnom natjecanju udaraljkaša u Beogradu (2014.), drugu nagradu kao solist i prvu kao član ansambla na međunarodnom natjecanju „Giovanni Musicisti“ u Trevisu, Italija (2015.) te prvu nagradu na natjecanju „Bistrički zvukolik“ u Mariji Bistrici (2015.). Godine 2015. izvodi Koncert za marimbu i gudače, autora Ney Rosaura, kao solist uz pratnju Varaždinskog komornog orkestra. Godine 2018. izvodi Goan koncert za timpane i gudače, autora Berislava Šipuša, također kao solist uz pratnju gudačkog orkestra Muzičke akademije u Zagrebu, Puli, Čakovcu i u Bjelovaru u sklopu Međunarodnog udaraljkaškog festivala – IPEW. Godine 2021. ponovno nastupa na IPEW-u kao solist sa skladbom za drum set solo Black Page američkog kompozitora Franka Zappe. 

Kao honorarni član svira u Simfonijskom orkestru Hrvatske radio televizije, Zagrebačkoj filharmoniji, orkestru Hrvatskog narodnog kazališta u Zagrebu, Zagrebačkim solistima, Hrvatskom komornom orkestru, Varaždinskom komornom orkestru, Hrvatskom baroknom ansamblu, renesansnom ansamblu Minstrel, renesansnom ansamblu Capella Zriniana, Orkestru mladih glazbenika te kao član Hrvatske počasne satnije – Kravat Pukovnija.

Od školske godine 2020./2021. predaje udaraljke u Glazbenoj školi Vatroslava Lisinskog Bjelovar te Glazbenoj školi Jan Vlašimsky u Virovitici.



RUPERT ČUNKO
(1995., Čakovec) Rupert started his musical education at the Music School in Varaždin playing cello and guitar. In 2012 he enrolled in the secondary Music school in Varaždin, majoring in percussion in the class of prof. Stanislav Muškinja and solo singing in the class of prof. Darija Hreljanović. He graduated percussion at University of Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of professor Igor Lešnik. During his education, he attends percussion seminars of prof. Ivana Bilić and prof. Igor Lešnik and listens to masterclasses of world percussionists such as Ludwig Albert, Marta Klimasara, Stoyan Yankoulov and Pei-Ching Wu. 

During his academic education, he actively participates in the work of the percussion ensemble biNgbang with which he is a guest at percussion festivals and seminars in Ulm (Germany) and Debrecen (Hungary). He participates in international competitions, of which he singles out the first prize as a soloist and as a member of the ensemble at the International Percussionist Competition in Belgrade (2014), the second prize as a soloist and the first prize as a member of the ensemble at the international competition “Giovanni Musicisti” in Treviso, Italy (2015) and the first prize at the “Bistrički zvukolik” competition in Marija Bistrica (2015). In 2015 he performed the Concerto for Marimba and Strings, by Ney Rosaur, as a soloist accompanied by the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra. In 2018, he performed Goan concerto for timpani and strings, by Berislav Šipuš, also as a soloist accompanied by the String Orchestra of the Zagreb Academy of Music in Zagreb, Pula, Čakovec and Bjelovar as part of the International percussion ensemble week (IPEW). In 2021, he performs again at IPEW as a soloist with a composition for the drum set solo Black Page by American composer Frank Zappa. 

As a part-time member, he plays in the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, the Zagreb Soloists, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Renaissance Ensemble Minstrel, the Renaissance Ensemble Capella Zriniana, the Young Musicians Orchestra and as a member of the Croatian Honorary Company of the Cravat Regiment. 

From the 2020/2021 school year he teaches percussion at the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School Bjelovar.

SVIT ŠTARKL

Osnovni stupanj glazbenog obrazovanja završio je u Glazbenoj školi Celje (Slovenija), za predmete klavir i udaraljke. Nakon toga je pohađao srednju glazbenu školu za predmet udaraljke na I. Gimnaziji u Celju, kod mentora Urbana Krča. 

Sudjelovao je na koncertima sa simfonijskim i puhačkim orkestrom Glazbene škole Celje i nastupima s komornom grupom udaraljki.

Trenutno je student četvrte godine udaraljki na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu u klasi prof. Igora Lešnika. Dosad je sudjelovao na udaraljkaškim festivalima u Samoboru, Bjelovaru i pohađao nekoliko majstorskih tečaja za udaraljke – Nebojša Jovan Živković, Aleksandra Šuklar, Tomasz Golinski, Irena Manolova, Delia Stevens, Leo Le Yu, Walter Mertens i dr..



SVIT ŠTARKL
completed the basic level of music education at the Celje Music School (Slovenia), for piano and percussion. After that, he attended secondary music school for the subject of percussion at the 1st Gymnasium in Celje, with mentor Urban Krč.

He participated in concerts with the symphony and wind orchestra of the Celje School of Music and performances with a chamber percussion group.

He is currently a fourth-year percussion student at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music in the class of prof. Igor Lešnik. So far, he has participated in percussion festivals in Samobor, Bjelovar and attended several percussion master classes (Nebojša Jovan Živković, Aleksandra Šuklar, Tomasz Golinski, Irena Manolova, Delia Stevens, Leo Le Yu, Walter Mertens).

FRANKO ŠTRBAC

FRANKO ŠTRBAC (2002., Zagreb) student je na Muzičkoj akademiji Zagreb, smjer udaraljke, u klasi Ivane Kuljerić Bilić. Dobitnik je brojnih regionalnih, državnih i međunarodnih nagrada na nekoliko glazbenih područja: udaraljke, solfeggio, komorna glazba.

U prethodne dvije godine školovanja osvojio je prvu nagradu na regionalnom natjecanju HDGPP-a, disciplina udaraljke, u ožujku 2020. Državno natjecanje te godine nije održano zbog Covida. Bio je jedan od osam natjecatelja u finalu nacionalnog izbora za Euroviziju mladih glazbenika 2020. Ove akademske godine ostvario je suradnju sa Akademijom Dramske Umjetnosti u projektu “Polychrome”.

Kao član udaraljkaškog ansambla Sudar Percussion i Sudar Beat Trio ostvario je niz koncerata od kojih se ističe Folk & Roll u suradnji sa etno sastavom Singrlice u lipnju 2021. Program je sadržavao tradicionalne hrvatske pjesme u obradama hrvatskih suvremenih kompozitora. Tijekom svog školovanja pohađa seminare cijenjenih udaraljkaša kao što su Casey Cangelosi, Andrei Pushkarev, Matthew Coley, Beverly Johnston, Vassilena Serafimova, Katarzyna Mycka, Claudio Santangelo, Filip Merčep, Nebojša Jovan Živković, Jean Geoffries i dr. Doprinosi kreiranju gradnskih manifestacija: otvaranje izložbi u Gradskoj Knjižnici Samobor, predvođenje fašničke povorke, otvaranje Vrazove Lubice itd. Član je Gradske glazbe Samobor.


FRANKO ŠTRBAC (2002, Zagreb) is a student at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music, majoring in percussion, in the class of prof. Ivane Kuljerić Bilić. He is the winner of numerous regional, national and international awards in several musical fields: percussion, solfeggio, chamber music. He was one of the eight contestants in the final of the national competition for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. This academic year, he collaborated with the Academy of Dramatic Arts in the “Polychrome” project. 

As a member of the percussion ensemble Sudar Percussion and Sudar Beat Trio, he performed a series of concerts, of which Folk & Roll stands out in collaboration with the ethnic group Singrlica in June 2021. The program included traditional Croatian songs arranged by contemporary Croatian composers.

During his education, he attended seminars of respected percussionists such as Casey Cangelosi, Andrei Pushkarev, Matthew Coley, Beverly Johnston, Vassilena Serafimova, Katarzyna Mycka, Claudio Santangelo, Filip Merčep, Nebojša Jovan Živković, Jean Geoffries and others. Contributes to the creation of city events: opening of exhibitions in the Samobor City Library, leading the carnival parade, opening of Vrazova Lubica, etc. He is a member of the Samobor City Music.

 

DANE FRANOLIĆ

DANE FRANOLIĆ (2004., Zagreb) studira udaraljke na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu, koju je kao nadareni kandidat upisao godinu dana prije završetka srednje škole. 

Sudjeluje na međunarodnim natjecanjima i seminarima te nastupa na koncertima. Osvojio je brojne nagrade na natjecanjima u Italiji, Austriji, Srbiji, Španjolskoj, Hrvatskoj i drugdje. Dobitnik je Yamaha stipendije i s njima i dalje surađuje.  

Održao je brojne solističke koncerte – na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu, na festivalu Večeri udaraljkaša u Križevcima te na dva koncerta na Filadelfia festivalu u Italiji. Svirao je sa sastavima, orkestrima i glazbenicima raznih stilova, od čelista Stjepana Hausera, talijanskog sastava Il Volo u koncertnoj dvorani Vatroslav Lisinski, pa do Orkestra mladih glazbenika u Berlinu.

Razvija se kao profesionalni glazbenik-udaraljkaš i odlučio se trajno posvetiti glazbi. 

Mentori na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu su mu profesori Igor Lešnik i Luis Camacho Montealegre. 



DANE FRANOLIĆ
(2004., Zagreb) studies percussion at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music, which he entered as a gifted candidate a year before graduating from high school.

He participates in international competitions and seminars and performs at concerts. He won numerous awards at competitions in Italy, Austria, Serbia, Spain, Croatia and elsewhere. He won a Yamaha scholarship and continues to work with them.

He gave numerous solo concerts – at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, at the Percussionist’s Evenings festival in Križevci and at two concerts at the Filadelfia festival in Italy. He played with ensembles, orchestras and musicians of various styles, from cellist Stjepan Hauser, the Italian ensemble Il Volo in the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall, to the Orchestra of Young Musicians in Berlin.

He is developing as a professional musician-percussionist and has decided to dedicate himself permanently to music. His mentors at the University of Zagreb Academy of Music are Igor Lešnik and Luis Camacho Montealegre.

LUIS CAMACHO MONTEALEGRE

LUIS CAMACHO MONTEALEGRE rođen je 1994. godine u Španjolskoj (Alcázar de San Juan). Glazbeno je obrazovanje počeo u dobi od šest godina. Maturirao je na glazbenom konzervatoriju Alcázar de San Juan, osvojivši posebne počasti kao udaraljkaš. Nastavio se razvijati na Konzervatoriju Manuel Masotti Littel, gdje je uspješno završio preddiplomski studij u razredu Juanfraa Carrilla. U tom razdoblju osvojio je prvu nagradu u kategoriji Edeta na međunarodnome udaraljkaškom natjecanju Perkulliria. Tijekom diplomskog studija nastupio je kao solist u koncertu za marimbu Water Sculpture Igora Lešnika, koji je izveo uz pratnju gudačkog orkestra zagrebačke Muzičke akademije u Puli, Bjelovaru, Zagrebu i Čakovcu. U siječnju 2018. godine nagrađen je Dekanovom nagradom Muzičke akademije u Zagrebu.  U sklopu koncerta Rhythm-o-phonia održanog 2019. godine u koncertnoj dvorani Vatroslava Lisinskog nastupio je kao solist uz pratnju Simfonijskog orkestra zagrebačke Muzičke akademije sa skladbom Koncert za Ivanu kompozitora Igora Kuljerića. Iste godine osvojio je prvu nagradu na međunarodnom udaraljkaškom natjecanju Rhythm-o-phonia. Diplomski studij udaraljki završava 2019. godine, u razredu red.prof.art. Igora Lešnika, radeći istovremeno s izv.prof.art. Ivane Kuljerić Bilić. Dobitnik je druge nagrade na natjecanju za klavijaturne udaraljke Percute koje se održalo na kraju 2021. godine. Aktivan je kao komorni glazbenik (Synchronos Ensemble, Novalis festival).

Osnovao je Flam-a Duo s kolegom Francescom Mazzolenijem. Iako su u početku uglavnom bili usredotočeni na repertoar za marimbe i osvojili druge nagrade na natje- canjima IV Percute – natjecanje komorne glazbe 2016 u Valenciji i Universal Marimba Competition u Belgiji 2017. godine, danas je njihov interes širok i proteže se na sve vrste udaraljki. Objavili su prvi CD pod imenom Preludes and Fugues u izdanju Croatia Records 2022. godine. Također je član udaraljkaškog ansambla Percussion Club koji je nastupio na svečanom otvorenju 72. Dubrovačkih ljetnih igara te na PASIC-u 2023. godine. Na ansamblu surađuje s Ivanom Kuljerić Bilić, Nikolom Krbanjevićem te Francescom Mazzolenijem.

Trenutno je zaposlen kao Lešnikov asistent na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu te re- dovito surađuje sa Simfonijskim orkestrom HRT-a.



LUIS CAMACHO MONTEALEGRE
(1994, Alcázar de San Juan) is a percus- sionist who studied in Spain (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia „Manuel Massotti Littel“) with professor Juanfra Carrillo, and in Croatia (University of Zagreb Academy of Music) where he graduated in 2019 under the mentorship of profes- sor Igor Lešnik. He received the first award in international percussion competitions Perkulliria 2015 and Ritmofonija 2019, and the second award in the Percute competi- tion for keyboard instruments in 2021. He has performed as soloist with orchestra in several occassions, highlighting his performance of Concerto for Ivana with the Za- greb Music Academy orchestra in Lisinski Concert Hall as well as his performance of Water Sculpture in different locations through Croatia. He is active as a chamber music performer (Festival Novalis, Synchronos Ensemble).

He created Flam-a Duo with his colleague Francesco Mazzoleni and has won two sec- ond prizes: Percute Chamber Music Competition in 2016 and the Universal Marimba Competition in 2017. Later on the duo widened their style including all types of per- cussion, currently focusing on marimba and vibraphone. They released their first CD named „Prelude and Fugues“ with the label Croatia Records. He is a member of Percussion Club, a percussion ensemble formed by Ivana Kuljerić Bilić, Nikola Krbanjević and Francesco Mazzoleni which had its debut in the 72nd edition of Dubrovnik Summer Festival. They recently performed in PASIC, celebrated in Indianapolis (USA) in 2023.

He is employed as assistant in University of Zagreb Academy of Music and often col- laborates with the Symphonic Orchestra of Croatian Radiotelevision.

COSCYL Percussion Ensemble

Ovaj udaraljkaški ansambl jedna je od mnogih grupa koje su proizašle na Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León. Održavaju koncerte u mnogim gradovima, muzejima te različitim nekonvencionalnim prostorima. Jedan od ciljeva ansambla je i stvaranje umjetničkih prijedloga visokih razina koji se mogu prezentirati izvan vrata obrazovnog centra te na taj način pokazujući i dokazujući izuzetan potencijal ovih mladih udaraljkaša.

The Percussion Ensemble is one of the groups that emerged from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León. Beyond the curricular work and since the creation of the Conservatory, the ensemble performs concerts in different cities of the Community as well as interventions in museums and unconventional spaces for the realization of concerts. Among the objectives of the ensemble is to create artistic proposals at a high level that can be presented outside the doors of the educational center, thus showing the potential of the young percussionists who are trained in our city.

NOE RODRIGO GISBERT

NOE RODRIGO GISBERT međunarodni je solist i redoviti udaraljkaš ansambla AskoISchönberg, Specijalizirao je suvremenu glazbu na Konzervatoriju u Amsterdamu i surađuje s različitim ansamblima i orkestrima diljem svijeta.

Bio je pozvan na neke od najvažnijih festivala u Europi kao što su Printemps des Arts Festival u Monte-Carlu, Međunarodni festival glazbe i plesa u Granadi ili Edinburški međunarodni festival, gdje je nastupao kao solist sa Škotskim komornim orkestrom zajedno s pijanistima Pierre-Laurentom Aimardom i Matthiasom Pintscherom.

Održao je brojne koncerte u Francuskoj, Nizozemskoj, Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, Švicarskoj, SAD-u i Španjolskoj. Noè Rodrigo dobitnik je nekoliko nagrada na nacionalnim i međunarodnim natjecanjima; osvojio je prvu nagradu na Permanent Competition of Juventudes Musicales 2015 i posebnu nagradu Europske unije glazbenih natjecanja za mlade.

Radi s glazbenim kazališnim kućama u Španjolskoj, Nizozemskoj, Njemačkoj i Švicarskoj te je redoviti suradnik Slagwerk Den Haag, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia i Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa.

Vrlo je strastveni pedagog, a svoju koncertnu aktivnost kombinira s majstorskim i naprednim tečajevima. U kolovozu 2018. bio je dio žirija Eurovizijskog natjecanja mladih glazbenika 2018. održanog u Edinburghu. Profesor je na Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León.

Studij glazbe započeo je u Altei, svom rodnom gradu, a kasnije je nastavio studirati na Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón. Nakon diplome završio je magistarski studij na Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Bio je član European Union Youth Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, između ostalih orkestara mladih.

Umjetnički je koordinator Festivala suvremene glazbe RESIS te umjetnički voditelj i član utemeljitelj Arxis Ensemble i Arxis Percussion Group.

U listopadu 2023. objavio je svoj prvi solo album, Paraules, s djelima Xenakisa, Sciarrina, Denisova, Borzellija, Valleja, Mantovanija i Torresa, u distribuciji IBS Classical.



NOE RODRIGO GISBERT
international soloist and regular percussionist of the AskoISchönberg ensemble, Noè Rodrigo specializes in contemporary music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and collaborates with different ensembles and orchestras around the world.

He has been invited to some of the most important festivals in Europe such as the Printemps des Arts Festival in Monte-Carlo, the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada, or the Edinburgh International Festival, where he performed as soloist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, together with pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Matthias Pintscher. 

He has also given concerts in France, Holland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, USA and Spain, performing at the Palau de la Música Catalana, Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Pierre Boulez Saal, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Fundación Juan March, L’Auditori (with the Wind Ensemble of Barcelona), Teatro Monumental (with the Spanish National Radio Orchestra), Teatro Colón A Coruña (with the Wind Ensemble of A Coruña), the ADDA in Alicante and the Luis Seoane Foundation in A Coruña, during the RESIS Festival, among others. He has also participated in the concert series organized by AiE (AiEnRuta-Clásicos) and Juventudes Musicales de España. With his percussion duo Mbira-duo he has performed concerts in many festivals in Spain, including the Santander International Festival and the Pórtico do Paraíso Festival in Ourense.

Noè Rodrigo has been awarded several prizes in national and international competitions, winning first prize in the Permanent Competition of Juventudes Musicales 2015 and the special prize of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth.

He works with music theater companies in Spain, Holland, Germany and Switzerland and is a regular collaborator of Slagwerk Den Haag, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, among other ensembles.

He is a very passionate educator and combines his concert activity with masterclasses and advanced courses. In August 2018 he was part of the jury of the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition 2018, held in Edinburgh. He is acting professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León. His firm commitment to the dissemination of contemporary music has led him to conduct interviews for Spanish National Radio and El Compositor Habla.

Noè Rodrigo began his musical studies in Altea, his hometown, and later continued studying at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón. JUAN FRANCISCO CARRILLO RUBIO INTERNA  

pohađao je studij na Visokom glazbenom konzervatoriju “Manuel Massotti Little” u Murciji. U isto vrijeme usavršavao je znanje iz simfonijskih, suvremenih, latinskih, afričkih, flamenko i jazz udaraljki kod nastavnika iz cijelog svijeta (Jan Putjens, Anders Loguin, Josep Vicent, Ali ‘N’Diaye Rose, Manel Ramada, Lucas Van Merwijk, Arthur Lipner, Rubem Damtas, Chano Domínguez, Paquito Baeza).

2000. godine dobiva stipendiju Zaklade Seneca za postdiplomski studij suvremenih udaraljki kod profesora Josepa Vicenta, a kasnije nastavlja usavršavanje u Amsterdamu kod profesora Mikea Scharperclausa i Hermanna Rienkena. Magistrirao je istraživanje glazbe na Sveučilištu Murcia. Od 2002. predaje tečajeve latinskih i afričkih udaraljki diljem svijeta.

Bio je jedan od osnivača udaraljkaškog kvarteta ESCLATS s kojim je snimio CD “wooden drum”.

Ima veliko pedagoško iskustvo. Bio je nastavnik udaraljki na Profesionalnom glazbenom konzervatoriju Alcázar de San Juan-Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real), 2003.-2008. te profesor udaraljki na Malom glazbenom konzervatoriju Manuel Massotti u Murciji, tijekom godina 2008.-2018. i akademske godine 2022./2023. Predavač je na magistarskom studiju glazbene terapije na Sveučilištu Murcia u akademskoj godini 2016.-2017. i nastavnik udaraljki na Profesionalnom plesnom konzervatoriju u Murciji, akademske godine 2018.-2022.

Svirao je s velikim međunarodnim udaraljkaškim solistima kao što su Gordon Stout, William Moerch, Nancy Zeltsman, Markus Leoson, Lansinne Diabaté, Lamine Camara, Marie Touré, Soulemane “COBRA” Camara, Harouna Dembelé, Fatoma Dembelé.

Trenutno je profesor udaraljki na Visokom konzervatoriju Castilla y León, solist timbalist Simfonijskog orkestra Torrevieja i umjetnički direktor Percussion and World Music Company “DJEMBEFÓ”.

 

 

JUAN FRANCISCO CARRILLO RUBIO INTERNA 

The Musician, Percussionist carries out his musical studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music “Manuel Massotti Little” in Murcia. At the same time, he completed his training with specialization courses in Symphonic, Contemporary, Latin, African, Flamenco and Jazz Percussion, with teachers from around the world: Jan Putjens, Anders Loguin, Josep Vicent, Ali ‘N’Diaye Rose, Manel Ramada, Lucas Van Merwijk, Arthur Lipner, Rubem Damtas, Chano Domínguez, Paquito Baeza…

In the year 2000 he was awarded a scholarship by the Seneca Foundation to do a postgraduate course in contemporary percussion with Professor Josep Vicent, later he continued his training in Amsterdam with Professors Mike Scharperclaus and Hermann Rienken. Master’s Degree in Music Research from the University of Murcia.Since 2002 he has been teaching Latin and African percussion courses throughout the national and international territory.

He was a founding member of the percussion quartet ESCLATS with whom he recorded the CD “wooden drum”.

He has extensive teaching experience, he was a percussion teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Alcázar de San Juan-Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real), 2003-2008. Professor of Percussion at the Manuel Massotti Little Conservatory of Music in Murcia, during the years 2008-2018 and academic year 2022/2023. Lecturer in the Master’s Degree in Music Therapy at the University of Murcia, 2016-2017 academic year and Percussion teacher at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Murcia, 2018-2022 academic years.

He has played with great international Percussion Soloists such as Gordon Stout, William Moerch, Nancy Zeltsman, Markus Leoson, Lansinne Diabaté, Lamine Camara, Marie Touré, Soulemane “COBRA” Camara, Harouna Dembelé, Fatoma Dembelé…

He is currently Professor of Percussion at the Superior Conservatory of Castilla y León, Soloist timbalist of the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra and artistic director of the Percussion and World Music Company “DJEMBEFÓ”.

Glazbena škola Pavla Markovca osnovana je 1945. godine i prva je u Hrvatskoj uvela sustavnu poduku udaraljki 1971. godine. Nastavnici koji su vodili udaraljkaški odjel su: Vojislav Čičić, Igor Lešnik, Božo Rebić, Tomi Spasevski, Renato Palatinuš te od 2017. godine Josip Konfic. 

Udaraljkaši Glazbene škole Pavla Markovca dobitnici su brojnih regionalnih, državnih i međunarodnih nagrada u kategorijama solo udaraljke i komorni sastavi. U suradnji s produkcijskim odjelom Djeca i mladi HRT 2019. snimaju emisiju “Školski sat – Zašto svirati udaraljke” te u suradnji s Hrvatskom glazbenom mladeži 2021. godine 6 edukativnih videa o udaraljkaškim instrumentima.

Udaraljkaši glazbene škole Pavla Markovca često predstavljaju školu na različitim događanjima u Zagrebu i okolici te osim izvanškolskih nastupa, redovito nastupaju na Božićnom koncertu, Danima škole te Smotri odjela u prostorijama Hrvatskog glazbenog zavoda u Zagrebu. 

 


UDARALJKAŠI GLAZBENE ŠKOLE PAVLA MARKOVCA

Pavao Markovac Music School was founded in 1945 and was the first in Croatia to introduce systematic percussion instruction in 1971. The teachers who led the percussion department are: Vojislav Čičić, Igor Lešnik, Božo Rebić, Tomi Spasevski, Renato Palatinuš and, since 2017, Josip Konfic.

The percussionists of the Pavao Markovac Music School are winners of numerous regional, national and international awards in the categories of solo percussion and chamber ensembles. In 2019, in cooperation with the production department of Children and young people of HRT they recorded the show “School Clock – Why play percussion” and in 2021, in cooperation with the Croatian Musical Youth, they also recorded 6 educational videos about percussion instruments.

Percussionists of the Pavao Markovac Music School often represent the school at various events in Zagreb and the surrounding area and  they regularly perform at the Christmas concert, School Days and Department Review in various concert halls in Zagreb.

JOSIP KONFIC

JOSIP KONFIC diplomirao je udaraljke na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu u klasi profesora Igora Lešnika i profesorice Ivane Kuljerić Bilić.

Od srednje škole sudjelovao je na mnogim državnim natjecanjima u različitim kategorijama (solist, komorni sastavi i skladateljski rad) te kao student na međunarodnim udaraljkaškim festivalima i radionicama u Austriji, Sloveniji, Poljskoj, Argentini, Urugvaju, Kini, Švedskoj, Francuskoj, Belgiji, Porto Ricu, Koreji, Mađarskoj i Srbiji. 

Surađivao je sa Simfonijskim orkestrom HRT- a, Zagrebačkom filharmonijom, orkestrom Hrvatskog Narodnog Kazališta u Zagrebu, Rijeci i Splitu i drugima. Bio je član udaraljkaškog kvarteta „BOOMerang” i ansambla „biNg bang“ s kojim je osvojio posebnu rektorovu nagradu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu te I. nagradu Summa cum laude na europskom natjecanju u Neerpeltu u konkurenciji 96 ansambala. U suradnji s produkcijskim odjelom Djeca i mladi HRT, 2014. godine snima pet glazbeno  – obrazovnih emisija o udaraljkama „Notica“, 2019. „Školski sat – Zašto svirati udaraljke?“, a u suradnji s Hrvatskom glazbenom mladeži 2022. godine snima 6 edukativnih videa za djecu i mlade pod nazivom „Priča o udaraljkama“.

Dobitnik je Godišnje nagrade Hrvatskog društva glazbenih i plesnih pedagoga (2019.), pet Oskara znanja, nagrade Ministarstva znanosti i obrazovanja za najuspješnijeg odgojno-obrazovnog radnika u području obrazovanja u šk.god. 2021./22. i preko 80 nagrada s učenicima (s međunarodnih, državnih i regionalnih natjecanja). Vodio je udaraljkaške radionice u Križevcima, Bjelovaru, Samoboru, Zagrebu (Biennale), Tinjanu, Murskoj Soboti i Dugom Selu.

Nastavnik je udaraljki u glazbenoj školi Pavla Markovca u Zagrebu, od 2011. organizira udaraljkaški festival pod nazivom „Večeri udaraljkaša u Križevcima”, od 2016. međunarodno natjecanje „Sonus” za mlade udaraljkaše te od 2022. godine Junior Percussion Camp u Grožnjanu. Autor je nekoliko aranžmana i skladbi za udaraljkaške instrumente te glazbe za dokumentarni film.

 


JOSIP KONFIC
graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb in the class of Professor Igor Lešnik and Ivana Kuljerić Bilić. He has participated in numerous national contests across various categories (soloist, chamber ensembles, composing) and international percussion festivals in Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Argentina, Uruguay, China, Sweden, France, Belgium, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Hungary and Serbia. 

His collaboration with the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, chamber orchestra Zagreb Soloists, Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Rijeka and Split, began during his early academic years. He served as a lead instructor of percussion workshops in Tinjan, Križevci, Bjelovar, Samobor, Zagreb and Murska Sobota in Slovenia. He was a member of a percussion quartet BOOMerang and the ensemble “biNg bang” that received a special Rector’s Award of the University of Zagreb and a first award SUMMA CUM LAUDE at the European contest in Neerpelt, Belgium. In 2014, he collaborated with Croatian Television on the production of five educational shows called “Notica”. In 2019, he collaborated on “School Hour – Why Play Percussion Instruments?” And in 2022, in collaboration with the Croatian Youth Music, he produced six educational videos for children and youth titled “Story of Percussion.”

He is the recipient of the Annual Award from the Croatian Society of Music and Dance Educators (2019), five Oscars of Knowledge, an award from the Ministry of Science and Education for the most successful educational worker in the field of education in the school year 2021/22, and over 80 awards with students (from international, national, and regional competitions). He has conducted percussion workshops in Križevci, Bjelovar, Samobor, Zagreb (Biennale), Tinjan, Murska Sobotu, and Dugo Selo.

He is a percussion teacher at the Pavla Markovca Music School in Zagreb. Since 2011, he has been organizing the percussion festival “Evenings of Percussionists in Križevci.” Since 2016, he has been organizing the international competition “Sonus” for young percussionists and, starting from 2022, the Junior Percussion Camp in Grožnjan. He is author of several arrangements and compositions for percussion instruments and music for documentary film. SHINITI UÉNO & PHONIX Reflection / Japan osnovali su 1988. Uéno i mladi solo udaraljkaši. Njihove nedavne aktivnosti uključuju koncerte s gostima kao što su Keiko Abe i N. J. Živković, E. Sejourné, L. Albert te sudjelovanje na Međunarodnim festivalima udaraljki u Hrvatskoj (2013.), Rumunjskoj (2014.) i Šangaju (2019.). Izdano je 14 CD-a, a premijerno su izveli “Bhagavad Gitu” Akire Nishimure (Suntory Hall, Tokio, 2013.) čiju je TV opernu verziju snimio i emitirao NHK-BS 2015. godine.

Participation in the International Percussion Festivals in Croatia (2013) , Romania (2014), and Shanghai (2019) . 14 CDs have been released, They premiered Akira Nishimura’s “Bhagavad Gita” (Suntory Hall, Tokyo, 2013), the TV-opera version of which was recorded and broadcasted by NHK-BS in 2015.

SHINITI UÉNO bivši udaraljkaš Strasbourške filharmonije, glavni udaraljkaš timpanist Francuskog nacionalnog orkestra Toulouse Capitole. Dobitnik je brojnih nagrada, uključujući Međunarodno natjecanje suvremene glazbe u Parizu i Međunarodno natjecanje Maria Canals. Kao solist izvodio je koncerte A.Joliveta, P.Crestona, W.Krafta i N.T.Daoa s orkestrima u Japanu i inozemstvu. Od svog prvog nastupa održao je 40 recitala u Japanu i diljem svijeta i praizveo preko 100 djela. Trenutno je izdano njegovih 5 solo CD-a čija je kvaliteta vrlo visoko ocijenjena. Posvećuje se razvoju mladih glazbenika, a iznjedrio je i 9 pobjednika međunarodnih udaraljkaških natjecanja. Kao sudac pozivan je na međunarodna natjecanja koja se održavaju u raznim dijelovima svijeta (Francuska, Italija, Hrvatska, Bugarska, Kina, Južna Koreja), drži majstorske tečajeve te se zalaže za promicanje i razvoj udaraljkaške glazbe.

He has received numerous awards, including Paris International Contemporary Music Competition and the Maria Canals International Competition. As a soloist, he has performed concertos by A. Jolivet, P. Creston, W. Kraft and N. T. Dao with orchestras in Japan and abroad. Since his debut, he has performed 40 recitals in Japan and around the world. Over 100 pieces premiered by him. Currently, 5 Solo CDs have been released, and their quality has been highly evaluated. He also devotes himself to the development of musicians, and has produced 9 winners of international percussion competitions. As a judge, he has been invited to international competitions held in various parts of the world (France, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, China, South Korea), holds master classes, and is committed to the promotion and development of percussion music.

NISHIMURA NAGOMU upisao je glazbeni koledž Kunitachi kao prvi student stipendije na odjelu udaraljki. Godine 2023. diplomirao je na Kunitachi College of Music kao najbolji u svojoj klasi i osvojio nagradu Yatabe. Trenutno je upisan na magistarski studij na Kunitachi College of Music.

Bio je polufinalist 7. Svjetskog natjecanja na marimbi i osvojio 3. nagradu na Međunarodnom natjecanju na marimbi u Tokiju.



NISHIMURA NAGOMU
entered the Kunitachi College of Music as a first scholarship student majoring in percussion instruments. In 2023 he graduated from Kunitachi College of Music at the top of his class and won the Yatabe Award. He is currently enrolled in the master’s program at Kunitachi College of Music.

He was the semi-finalists of the 7th World Marimba Competition and won the 3rd prize at the Tokyo International Marimba Competition. 

YUJI ADACHI

YUJI ADACHI diplomirao je na Toho College of Music. Trenutačno je prvoj godini postdiplomskog usavršavanja na Toho College of Music. Tijekom školovanja kratko je vrijeme učio timpane u Beču kod Antona Mittermaiera (glavnog timpanista Bečke filharmonije). Trenutno nastupa u limenim glazbama i orkestrima u Tokiju.  



YUJI ADACHI
graduated from Toho College of Music. Currently enrolled in the first year of the advanced course at Toho College of Music. While in school, he studied timpani in Vienna for a short period of time and studied timpani under Mr. Anton Mittermaier (Chief timpani player of the Vienna Philharmonic). Currently, he is gaining performance experience in brass bands and orchestras in Tokyo.

NAOTO SATO

NAOTO SATO diplomirao je kao najbolji student u klasi Shiniti Uéno na Odsjeku za udaraljke na Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

Godine 2019. izabran je za stipendistu The Hironao Seki Memorial Culture and Arts Foundation.

Bio je udaraljkaš u opernom projektu XVI. glazbene akademije Seiji Ozawa. Održao je solistički recital u Tokyo Concerts Labu 2020. uz veliko priznanje.



NAOTO SATO
graduated at the top of Shiniti Uéno’s class from the Percussion Department at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

In 2019 he was selected as a recipient of the scholarship given by The Hironao Seki Memorial Culture and Arts Foundation.


He was the percussionist in the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project XVI. He gave a solo recital at the Tokyo Concerts Lab in 2020 to great acclaim. 

NINO MASAYUKI

NINO MASAYUKI diplomirao je na Kunitachi College of Music. Jednoglasno je osvojio prvu nagradu za mali bubanj na 7. međunarodnom natjecanju udaraljki u Italiji. Također je osvojio najviše mjesto na 7. Jeju međunarodnom natjecanju puhača i udaraljki i 1. Japanskom međunarodnom natjecanju udaraljki. Aktivan je i kao solist te je bio član komisije na 17th Italy International Percussion.



NINO MASAYUKI
graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music. Nino won unanimously, the first prize of Snare Drum at the 7th International Percussion Competition in Italy. Also won the highest place at the 7th Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition and 1st Japan International percussion competition. He is also active as a soloist and he was a jury at the 17th Italy International Percussion.

SYUNSUKE MAGARIBUCHI

SYUNSUKE MAGARIBUCHI diplomirao je na Glazbenom koledžu Kunitachi 2013. Nastupao je kao solist i u ansamblu, a aktivan je u širokom rasponu žanrova kao što su puhački ansambl, orkestar, popularna glazba, improvizacija, koncerti Tokijskog međunarodnog udruženja umjetnika, TV nastupi, itd. Iznimno je zapažen njegov nastup s Cortom Lippeom (elektronika) na Sonic Interaction 2015.



SYUNSUKE MGARIBUCHI
graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music in 2013. He has  performed both solo and ensemble are active in a wide range of genres such as brass ensemble, orchestra, popular music, improvisation, concerts of the Tokyo International Artists Association, TV appearances, etc. In particular, his performance with Cort Lippe (electronics) at Sonic Interaction 2015.
