IVANA BILIĆ – Hrvatska
Ivana Bilić studirala je udaraljke u klasi prof. Igora Lešnika na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu gdje je diplomirala 1993. Polazila je majsorske tečajeve koje su vodili K. Abe, S. Fink, K. Tresselt i J. Geoffroy. Od 1996. Ivana Bilić je prva timpanistica Simfonijskog orkestra HRT-a. 1998. dodijeljena joj je nagrada “Najbolje mlade glazbenice u Hrvatskoj”. Članica je brojnih komornih skupina, te asistent na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu. Nastupila je izvodeći prve izvedbe mnogih skladbi, a redovito nastupa uz hrvatske i svjetske orkestre. 2000. je kuća “Cantus” izdala njen solo CD “Folow me”, a 2001. dodijeljena joj je hrvatska diskografska nagrada “Porin” za najbolju izvedbu iz područja klasične glazbe. 2002. nastupila je na “Percussive Arts Society International Convention” u Columbusu u SAD-u.
IVANA BILIĆ – Croatia
Ivana Bilić studied percussion with Prof. Igor Lešnik and graduated from the Zagreb Music Academy in 1993. She attended various master classes with K. Abe, S. Fink, K. Tresselt and J. Geoffrey. Since 1996, she has been the solo timpanist of the Croatian Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 1998, Ivana Bilić received the” Best Young Croatian Artist Award”. She is a member of various chamber music groups and an assistant professor at the Zagreb Music Academy. Ivana Bilić premiered many works for percussion and appeared on international festivals. She performs regularly with Croatian and international orchestras. In 2000, “Cantus” label has released her debut solo CD “Follow me” and in 2001, Ivana received “Porin” – Croatian Discography Award for the best performance in the classical music field. Her recent appearences include performance during Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) 2002 in Columbus, Ohio.
JEAN GEOFFROY – Francuska
Jean Geoffroy zna kako postići da osobitim stilom izvodi različite komade udaraljkaške glazbe. Bio je solo timpanist u “Ensemble Orchestral de Paris“ između 1985. i 2000., solist sastava za suvremenu glazbu “Court-Circuit“, savjetnik studenata kompozicije na IRCAM. Mnogi su mu skladatelji posvetili djela, među njima: I.Malec, J.L Campana, F. Durieux, E. Tanguy, P. Leroux, L. Naon, F. Paris, D. Tosi, P. Hurel, B. Giner, B. Mantovani, B. Dubedout, M. Reverdy, S. Giraud, Y. Taïra i drugi. Redovito solistički nastupa na najprestižnijim europskim festivalima: “Présences“ Radio France (Pariz), P.A.S (London), Darmstadt (Njemačka), “Aujourd’hui Musique“ (Perpignan-Francuska), “38° Rugissants“ (Grenoble-Francuska),”Fenice“ (Venecija), “Biennale Zagreb“ (Hrvatska). Nastupa u najznačajnijim koncertnim dvoranama u Europi, kao i Buenos Airesu (Argentina), Santiago (Čile), Japan (Tokyo, Kawasaki), Séoul (Koreja) i Sad: Oberlin, Akron, Nashville, Dallas, Boulder. Dobitnik je nagrade koju dodjeljuje Menuhin Fondation “Présence de la Musique”. Jean Geoffroy je načinio preko dvadeset solističkih snimki, među kojima su naslovi: “Attacca”, P. Leroux solo, Per-Tre/Contours B. Giner, “Je est un autre“ J. L. Campana , Noctal J. L. Campana, E. Tanguy solo, Bach Cello suite (2CD) i Marim’Bach, na kojoj izvodi i Chaconne u D-molu za koju je načinio transkripciju, a koju je izdala H. Lemoine Editions. Autor je knjige iz područja glazbene pedagogije “La classe de percussion, un carrefour”, koju je izdao “La Cité de la Musique”. Geoffroy se sa strašću posvećuje pedagogiji, autor je nekoliko didaktičkih radova i metoda, direktor je “Lemoine Percussion”. Između 1993. i 1998. predavao je na “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris”, a sada predaje na Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon“ i “Conservatoire Supérieur de Geneve”. Gostuje na seminarima širom svijeta te održava majstorske tečajeve, poput “ Bach Seminar “ u Grožnjanu i F.I.P.A International Academy u Francuskoj.
JEAN GEOFFROY – France
Jean Geoffroy holds the First Prize in percussion from the Paris Conservatory in 1985.
He was a solo timpanist at the “Ensemble Orchestral de Paris“ between 1985 and 2000, soloist of the contemporary music ensemble “Court-Circuit“, adviser for composer students at IRCAM. Numerous composers wrote percussion pieces for him, among them: I. Malec, J. L. Campana, F. Durieux, E. Tanguy, P. Leroux, L. Naon, F. Paris, D. Tosi, P. Hurel, B. Giner, B. Mantovani, B. Dubedout, M. Reverdy, S. Giraud, Y. Taïra and many other. As a soloist, Jean Geoffroy has been invited regularly to the most prestigious European festivals: “Présences“ Radio France (Paris), PAS (London), Darmstadt (Germany), “Aujourd’hui Musique“ (Perpignan – France), “38° Rugissants“ (Grenoble – France), ”Fenice“ (Venezia), “Zagreb Biennale “ (Croatia). He gives recitals at the most important venues in Europe and also in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile), Japan (Tokyo, Kawasaki), Séoul (Korea) and USA: Oberlin, Akron, Nashville, Dallas, Boulder. He was awarded “Présence de la Musique” prize of the Menuhin Foundation. He participated as soloist in more than twenty records among which: “Attacca”, P. Leroux solo, Per-Tre/Contours B. Giner, “Je est un autre“ J. L. Campana, Noctal J. L. Campana, E. Tanguy solo, Bach Cello suites (2CD) and Marim’Bach, in which he plays among other the Chaconne in D minor, transcribed work that he published at the H. Lemoine Editions. He wrote “La classe de percussion, un carrefour”, book published by La Cité de la Musique concerning musical pedagogy. He is a passionate teacher, author of several didactic works and methods, director of the Lemoine Percussion collection and was teacher assistant between 1993 and 1998 at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris”. He is currently professor at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon” and “Conservatoire Supérieur de Geneve”. Jean Geoffroy is a guest artist during masterclasses in France and all over the world and also takes part in training periods and seminar like “Bach Seminar“ in Grožnjan (Croatia) and F.I.P.A International Academy (France).
FERNANDO HASHIMOTO – BRAZIL
Fernando Hashimoto je pročelnik udaraljkaškog odjela na “Campinas State University / UNICAMP”, gdje razvija istraživanje brazilske glazbe za udaraljke. Osnovao je i vodi Udaraljkaški ansambl GRUPU – UNICAMP. Također vodi udaraljkašku dionicu Simfonijskog orkestra Campinas. Kao solist, Fernando je nastupao uz nekoliko orkestara u svijetu s kojima je izveo ciklus koncerata pod nazivom “Brazilski koncerti za udaraljke”. Vodio je seminare i održao recitale na nekoliko sveučilišta i važnih udaraljkaških festivala u Brazilu, Argentini, SAD, Hrvatskoj, Švedskoj, Puerto Ricu, Španjolskoj. Fernando Hashimoto je diplomirao i magistrirao na “Campinas State University / UNICAMP” u klasi Prof. Ricardo Righinija i Prof. André Juareza. Usavršavao se na majstorskim tečajevima kod znamenitih pedagoga. 1998. je dobio stipendiju brazilske vlade koja mu je omogućila da uz Prof. Dr. John Boudlera ostvari opsežno istraživanje brazilske glazbe za udaraljke. Od 2000. je Percussive Arts Society’s Brazilian Chapter President. Za vrijeme PASIC 2002. u Columbusu, SAD, uručena mu je nagrada “Outstanding PAS Chapter President Award”.
Fernando Hashimoto – Brasil
Fernando Hashimoto is the Percussion Department Chair of Campinas State University / UNICAMP, where he is developing research about Brazilian percussion repertoire. He is the founder and director of GRUPU – UNICAMP’s Percussion Ensemble and he also is the head of percussion section at Campinas Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, Fernando has performed with several orchestras overseas, this include a wide concerts series entitled “Brazilian Percussion Concerts”. He has been invited to administer clinics and recitals in several universities and important percussion festivals held in Brazil, Argentina, USA, Croatia, Sweden, Puerto Rico, Spain. Fernando Hashimoto earned his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Music from Campinas State University / UNICAMP, where he studied under the direction of Prof. Ricardo Righini and Prof. André Juarez and participated in several master classes with internationally recognized artists. In 1998, he won the Brazilian Government’s Grant and, under the direction of Prof. Dr. John Boudler, he realized an extensive research about Brazilian repertoire for percussion ensembles. Since 2000, he has been Percussive Arts Society’s Brazilian Chapter President. During PASIC 2002 held in Columbus, Ohio, he received the Outstanding PAS Chapter President Award.
IGOR LEŠNIK – Hrvatska
Igora Lešnika (1956) dobro upućeni znalci drže jednim od vodećih europskih udaraljkaša. Njegove kompozicije nalaze se na programima renomiranih solista i ansambala te svjetskih udaraljkaških natjecanja a suradnjom s glasovitim kolegama, bogatom diskografijom i međunarodnom koncertantnom djelatnošću ucrtao je Hrvatsku na udaraljkaške zemljovide.
Kao utemeljitelj studija udaraljki na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu redovit je gost uglednih sveučilišta a udaraljkaška glasila objavljuju njegove stručne radove. Član je međunarodnog odbora svjetskog udaraljkaškog udruženja Percussive Arts Society i predsjednik njegove hrvatske podružnice.
Dobitnik je nagrada Josip Štolcer Slavenski (1990) i Milka Trnina (1995). Francusko ministarstvo kulture odlikuje ga (2003) naslovom viteza reda umjetnosti i književnosti.
Nastupa na glazbalima Adams, Arbiter i Zildjian.
IGOR LEŠNIK – Hrvatska
All well-informed experts know of Igor Lešnik as being among the leading European percussionists. His works for percussions are part of concert programmes of many renowned soloists and ensembles as well as percussion competitions around the world. His collaboration with famous colleagues, rich collection of recording and his international concert activities he introduced Croatia to the world percussion map.
As a founder of the percussion department at the Music Academy of Zagreb, he is a regular guest at many important universities and percussion magazines publish his specialist works. Lešnik is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and the president of its Croatian branch. He received several awards for his artistic achievements at home and in 2003 was awarded with French knighthood title for accomplishments in arts and literature.
He performs on Adams, Arbiter and Zildjian instruments.
Manel Ramada Balaguer – Španjolska
Studirao je glazbu u Valenciji u klasama koje su vodili José Sáez, José Morató, Roberto Campos i Manuel Tomás, u Madridu José Mª Martín Porrás, Enrique Llácer, Joan Iborra i Javier Benet, u Amsterdamu Jan Pustjens, Jan Labordus, Jim Gordon i Peter Prommel, a u Gentu (Belgija) Frank Nuyts i Robert van Sice. Nastupa uz većinu španjolskih simfonijskih orkestara i ansambala kao što su Barcelona 216, Grupo Línea, Grupo Enigma, Komorni orkestar Zaragoza, Amsterdam Percussion Group, Nits-Percussions de la Mediterrània, Grup Instrumental de València, Turiae Camerata, Taima-Granada, Perkumanía Ensemble, Etnos Ensemble, Batec de l´Alé and Per-sax Duo. Predaje na “Conservatorio Superior” u Zaragozi od 1986. Ostvario je i izveo nekoliko udaraljkaških događaja poput Érase una vez… La Percusión, The Paradidle-Quartet i La vuelta al mundo en 80 instrumentos de percusión. Kao gost-profesor, radi sa studentskim orkestrima u Madridu, u baskijskoj regiji, na sveučilištu u Valenciji i u Murciji. Umjetnički je ravnatelj Per-se-cusión Ensemble i predaje na “Conservatorio Superior” u Valènciji, te “Musikene” u San Sebastiánu. Svira timpane u Simfonijskom orkestru Valencia, Turiae Camerata i Komornom orkestru Zaragoza. Održava majstorske tečajeve, pozivan je u žirije različitih natjecanja, a napisao je i nekoliko knjiga o udaraljkama. Načinio je snimke za RNE i Catalunya Ràdio.

He has been percussion’s professor at the Conservatorio Superior of Music in Zaragoza since 1986. He has created and produced different percussion shows such as Érase una vez… La Percusión, The Paradidle-Quartet and La vuelta al mundo en 80 instrumentos de percussion. Manel Ramada has been guest teacher with the Youth Students Orchestra from the Comunity in Madrid, from Basque Country, from University of Valencia and the Youth Orchestra in Murcia, artistic director of Per-se-cusión Ensemble. Currently, he is the professor at the Conservatorio Superior of Music in València and Musikene in San Sebastián and also a timpanist with Valencia Symphony Orchestra, Turiae Camerata and Chamber Orchestra from Auditorium in Zaragoza. He has been teaching during summer courses and master classes in conservatories and participated as a jury member in various competitions. He is also endorser with Pearl, Vic Firth and Sabian. His recordings were made for RNE and Catalunya Ràdio. Manel Ramada is the author of different books about percussion as La Percusión en el Aula, La Caja Orquestal , Atlas de Percusión, Orchestral Essays for Percussion, Caixa d´orquestra and El Ritme i la Percussió.
MICHAEL UDOW – SAD
Michael Udow vodi udaraljkaški smjer na “University of Michigan”, vodi udaraljkašku dionicu Santa Fe opere i član je Summit Brass, Keiko Abe and Michigan C.P., kao i plesno-udaraljkaškog dua Equilibrium. Michael Udow bio je član “New Orleans Symphony” i “Blackearth Percussion Group”. Njegova udaraljkaška opera “The Shattered Mirror” za soprana, tenora, baritona, udaraljke na pozornici, plesače i udaraljkaški orkestar doživjela je prvu izvedbu za vrijeme održavanja 1998 Percussive Arts Society International Convention u Orlandu na Floridi. Michaelovi profesori kompozicije su Warren Benson, Herbert Brün, Thomas Fredrickson, Edwin London, Paul Steg, Ben Johnston i Salvatore Martirano. Udaraljke su mu predavali Alan Abel, Fredrick Fairchild, Russell Hartenberger, Robert Lee, Jack McKenzie, Michael Ranta i Thomas Siwe. Michael Udow zabilježio je svoja djela na brojnim tonskim zapisima.
MICHAEL UDOW – USA
Michael Udow directs the percussion program at the University of Michigan, is principal percussionist with the Santa Fe Opera and is a member of Summit Brass, Keiko Abe and Michigan CP., and the dance percussion duo, Equilibrium. Michael is formerly a member of the New Orleans Symphony and the Blackearth Percussion Group. his percussion opera, The Shattered Mirrar, for soprano, tenor, baritone, on-stage percussion, dancers and percussion orchestra was premiered at the 1998 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Orlando, Florida. Michael’s composition teachers include Warren Benson, Herbert Briin, Thomas Fredrickson, Edwin London, Paul Steg, Ben Johnston and Salvatore Martirano. His percussion teachers include: Alan Abel, Fredrick Fairchild, Russell Hartenberger, Robert Lee, Jack McKenzie, Michael Ranta and Thomas Siwe. Michael Udow made numerous recordings of his works.
